Wan Tat Cheah
Baritone, Guitarist, Audio-Video Producer
Wan Tat Cheah is a Malaysian baritone who recently completed his undergraduate degree in music at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and is currently continuing postgraduate study in music there. He started to sing at the age of 18 in a college choir and was soon advised by the conductor to take singing lessons with a professional singing teacher. After completing his Diploma in Music with classical guitar being his first study, he decided to become a singer. He is currently studying under the tutelage of Jonathan Gunthorpe.
As a Baritone, Wan Tat has actively participated in many vocal department performances including singing in the chorus in Marriage of Figaro, La Vie Parisienne and being in the ensemble in Monteverdi’s Madrigals of War and Love. He performed the role of Matt of the Mint- Bagger’s Opera, Leporello- Don Giovanni (scene), Spinelloccio and
Guccio- Gianni Schicchi, Dr. Pangloss- Candide (scene), Speaker and Man in Armour- The Magic Flute, Vodník- Rusalka (scene), Lysander- The Enchanted Island, Actor and Mr. Rushworth (acting)- Mansfield Park.
